Media Rooms

For many people the idea of a dedicated home theater although attractive is not practical. They may not have the desire, space or budget for a dedicated home theater room, but still desire the best home theater experience possible.  With proper planning and design these goals can be achieved.  Sound Ideas can work with you to take virtually any room in your home and with the touch of a button convert it to a stunning audio/video experience.  The video projector and screen can be hidden in the ceiling and drop down when it is in use.  The speakers can be flush-mounted in the ceiling or seamlessly incorporated into the cabinetry.  If a flat-panel monitor is preferred it can be mounted on the wall or tucked away in a cabinet until it is required.

We can also accommodate the sports fan in the family with multi-monitor, multi-source media systems that can be easily controlled via a custom programmed touchscreen.  No matter what your desire Sound Ideas can provide an elegant solution to meet your requirements. 

Home Automation and Systems Integration

For some, Home Automation or what we also call Systems Integration may be something as simple as remote or automatic control of a few lights and the ability to remotely  turn a central sound system on and off and select and  control it’s components.  For others, Security  may be the central application.  As a very basic definition, we tend to refer to home automation as anything that gives you remote or automatic control of the various electronic devices and systems around your home.

In short, an Automated Home might include Lighting Control, Security System & Access Control, Home Theater,  Distributed  Audio and Video, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Control, Pool & Spa Control, a Telephone System and even Irrigation System Control.  The possibilities are practically without limit.  Systems of this nature require detailed design, planning and execution as well as a high level of co-ordination between the various trades and craftsman that will be involved. 

Typically Home    Automation Systems will be controlled by Keypads such as this Crestron wall mounted version, when simple control is all that is required.  For more comprehensive control, or when video feedback such as that from Video Surveillance Cameras or Whole House Video Systems is a requirement, a Touchscreen such as the one pictured here, would be the preferred user interface.

Video Surveillance

In today’s world we all know the importance of keeping our loved ones and possessions safe and secure.  Video surveillance is an important tool that if properly implemented can provide you with a greater sense of security and peace of mind.  Perhaps your need is as  simple as seeing who is at the front door or gate. Or perhaps you have  kids and wish to keep an eye on them at the pool. Even if you have a  multi-camera, property-wide system that you want to view from touchscreens and even from your computer when you are home or away from home - Sound Ideas has the experience and technical expertise to deliver high quality video surveillance images.

The cable infrastructure of today’s modern home should include wiring for Telephone, Cable TV and/or Satellite, as well as a Local Area Network (LAN).  These requirements are fundamental to “future readiness” and are made possible by a comprehensive pre-wire.   Of course, other elements must also be accounted for in the pre-wire such as Plasma or LCD TV’s which are remote from their source components, whole house connections of MP3 players such as iPods, and many other custom possibilities.   Pictured below are examples of the type of wire that are utilized for this application,  the “can” or distribution point where all the wiring comes together and a room wall plate where the local wiring is terminated.  When the Sound Ideas team of experts wires your home this “future ready” approach is standard procedure.
